GENERAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE BEST OF SERIES VIDEOS Through the continued urging of schools, SNI has continued the decision to split the exhibition footage into both an ARMED and UNARMED video.While a few schools wish we still made a single 2-hour video with both included, the overwhelming number of schools asked believe this simply leaves too many solid performances on the cutting room floor. Many schools stated that often cadets were focused on either armed or unarmed drill and they were often just skimming through the segment they didn't find relevant. They also wished the routines could be a little longer. By splitting the exhibition footage into two videos, both of these goals have been accomplished! Even more close-up shots were used during the performances. You will see the intensity and the emotion of the cadets, along with still seeing the great routines and performances! These shots can often be shown in slow motion (if your DVD player is capable of this feature) to better learn the machincs of how these cadets can execute with such exactness and skill. We at SNI think this change will help to give the videos a more personal angle that teams can use to help their drill teams reach that next performance level. The Best of Video Series does maintain the same concept every year - to show a wide variety of drill styles and disciplines to give all viewers a chance to be entertained and educated. This is done while seeing top drill and ceremony programs from around the country. The videos feature segments of many performances, representing all branches of JROTC. While many are top performances, a few shown did not take honors. All have strengths that can be learning tools. Much can be learned by ALL of the performances that are shown on the Best of Basic Drill and both the Best of Armed & Unarmed Exhibition Drill videos. All videos are contained in a plastic, hard-shell case to protect this item for many years to come! The running time for every video is right at roughly 120 minutes. The cost of the newest VHS videotapes are $35.00 per video and discounts are available for on-line purchases of all three Best of Series Videos together in one order (discussed below). Older media is often priced lower until they are gone. When the viseos sell out, they will not be made available any longer. If you order online and buy all three videos within a series, you will receive a $10 discount on your order, as well as the fixed low shipping & handling amount of just $5.00 per order (regardless of how many videos you purchase within your order!). Personal or school checks, money orders and signed school P.O.'s are accepted. Credit Cards are accepted only through PayPal. Paypal is the easist method and the fastest way to get your videos - often shipping the same day you place your order (read the Best of Videos frequently asked questions for specifics). In order to satisfy demand for Junior ROTC instructional drill videos, SNI has put together the finest competition videos available for purchase anywhere. These 120 minute videos are filmed exclusively at the MASTERS LEVEL COMPETITION of the National High School Drill Team Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida. These fantastic training videos are now a part of well over 1,800 Junior ROTC programs throughout the world. Entertaining and instructional, these videos filmed at the Nationals beginning in 1995 belong in the hands of every program maintaining a competition drill unit.
The Best of Basic videos feature teams performing in: Unit Inspection; Regulation Drill; and 4-person Color Guard competition. Armed and Unarmed performances are featured within the Inspection and Regulation competitions, while all Color Guard performances feature 4-person units performing with 2 rifle bearers and 2 flag bearers. The long hours of practice and attention to detail come to the screen when you watch these exceptional displays of standard, SOP-style drill excellence.
The Best of Exhibition videos feature teams performing in all forms of exhibition drill, to include: Solo and Dual Exhibition, as well as Squad/Element and Platoon/Flight Team Exhibition Drill. Armed and Unarmed performances are featured within this tape. The variety and overall quality of the teams who perform on these videos will make this video an invaluable inclusion into your educational library.
While videos were begun in 1995, the older Best of Basic and Best of Exhibition Drill videos are no longer available to order on this order form. They have been sold out for years but SNI may still have a single copy or two around for purchase.
