Mud obstacle for the CCR. This is what the mud pit starts out as -- simply a low spot in the road!
The small opening on the left at the top of the picture is a cut-around path where all of the gear goes first.
Teams approach the obstacle and take the small path to the LEFT to pre-place the gear PAST the obstacle.
All cadets (NO GEAR) then crawl under the obstacle (tape will be overhead). Teams then get their gear and go!
A 1,200 gallon water buffalo keeps the mud consistent all day to ensure fairness for all competitors.

PTT Starting Line. One team competes at a time, cadets line up in five pairs of two cadets each.
Teams accomplish all of the obstacles on the way down, they do them all again on the way back.
Cadets basically "reset" the course with the moving items placing them back where they started on their return.

Here is the canoe that will be used for the PTT segment. It will have extra ruks inside to provide the 250 lb. weight.
The picture also shows the small lake the PTT course wraps around in the background. Provides a great backdrop for cheering your team on!

The canoe is easy to grab onto by the sides or even the stability bar in the middle or ends.
We will have an EXTRA identical canoe in the PTT ready area for all teams to be able to grab, feel and lift before they begin!

This is the 8' wall in use for both the Cross-Country Rescue (CCR) and the Ultimate Raider.
As you can see, the boards are warped and bowed just enough to get some good footholds to get over the wall!
As stated in the SOP, all cadets are designed to HANG AND DROP getting off the wall in the CCR team event!
Remember, for the CCR Course the wall will be the FIRST item teams go over - for Ultimate Raider, it is still the last thing they see!

tire
This will be a newer obstacle at the Raider Nationals for the Raider Gauntlet course.
All cadets AND ALL GEAR will go through the tire. Teams will likely wish to have a
single cadets Go through the time and then pass items between to that cadet.
Gear MAY NOT BE THROWN or DROPPED - please place it all on the ground!

wall
(NOTE: Not a part of the All-Service Raider Challenge Championships - Army Championships ONLY!)
This will be a newer obstacle at the Raider Nationals for the Raider Gauntlet course.
All cadets and all RUKS will go OVER the wall. Cadets will complete and move out to complete the course.
As stated in the SOP, all cadets are designed to HANG AND DROP getting off the wall in this team event!
Other types of dismounts from the wall should not be allowed by responsible Raider teams.

tunnel
This is a newer obstacle at the Raider Nationals for the Raider Gauntlet course.
All cadets AND ALL GEAR will go through the tunnels. Obviously they will be cleared out and "safety rimmed" on the edges for use.

If it rains they will be wet and muddy - be prepared for anything!

The PTT Course will have the addition of FIVE AMMO CANS (one per lane).
The can will maintain a sealed sandbag inside and will weigh exactly 50ibs for all teams. THESE ARE THE EXACT AMMO CANS so they are EXACTLY as pictured above.
They will be placed WITH the existing water cans on the course and be moved in the same style "up and back again on the return leg" as you will the water cans.
Your strategy on how these all get moved is yours to devise. This will simply add an additional strength component to more fairly balance the agility and speed component on the course.
(NOTE: A practice ammo can will be maintained in the ready area for teams to lift and see the day prior and immediately before they compete.)

MALE TEAMS ONLY - ARMY CHAMPIONSHIPS ONLY!

(NOTE: Not a part of the All-Service Raider Challenge Championships - Army Championships ONLY!)
This is a new obstacle at the 2015 Raider Nationals and beyond for the Raider Gauntlet course. All cadets AND ALL GEAR will go over the wall and continue to completion of the course.
It is 10' wall (center pic). It has a platform on the top (left pic). It has stairs on the side (right pic). The photo shows the stairs with the plywood DOOR locked closed against the stairs.
This door of course will be open for the competition to use these stairs to get DOWN from the platform. ALL cadets MUST USE THE STAIRS TO GO DOWN. The ruks may be tossed to a cadet on the ground.
NO JUMPING from the platform or uncompleted stairs to the ground.

Long Past Paider Event Photos!
From back when this event was just a 12-school local area meet at a state park in Athens, Georgia!
These photos are from events LONG GONE but we thought they were neat so we left them up! ENJOY!
